UFC 107: Penn vs. Sanchez takes place on December 12 at the FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee. The card has suffered a complete make-over from what we had originally expected to see, however, the UFC managed to still pull together an impressive card.
The co-main event was initially slated to be Rampage Jackson vs. Rashad Evans, but Rampage opted out of the fight to showcase his inner Mr. T in the new A-Team movie. Evans has since been moved to the UFC 108 card to headline against Brazilian Thiago Silva.
Thiago Alves was scheduled to fight Jon Fitch at the even after Fitch’s original opponent Ricardo Almeida had to withdraw with an injury. Alves later had to pull out of the fight as well when he discovered he had a torn PCL. Alves’ American Top Team teammate Todd Duffee was also forced to withdraw due to injury, who was slated to fight Paul Buentello in a heavyweight contest. Alves and Duffee have been replaced by Mike Pierce and Stefan Struve.
