UFC 108, which will take place on January 2nd, has taken yet another blow. Carlos Condit has been forced out of the co-main event bout. His opponent was scheduled to be Paul “Semtex” Daley in a welterweight bout. This would have been Condit’s first bout on a UFC pay-per view card and this was to be the second fight in the organization for Semtex. MMAjunkie.com is reporting: After weeks of searching for a main event for the first event of 2010, the UFC has now lost a planned co-feature bout for UFC 108. MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has learned from a source [...]
We are only a few days away from UFC 107 which is headlined with a lightweight championship between BJ Penn and Diego Sanchez. This fight promises to be entertaining and has fight of the year potential. Both of these fighters are strange characters and incredibly intense. Not only will the fight be epic, but the stare down at weigh-ins should be one for the ages. Here are the pre-fight hype videos courtesy of UFC.com:
Sources are saying the Ultimate Fighting Championship has released American Top Team’s Denis Kang following his UFC 105 loss to Michael Bisping. Kang (32-12-1) was 1-2 in his three fights within the organization in 2009. His other loss came at the hands of Alan Belchar and the lone win was a decision victory over “Professor X” Xavier Foupa-Pokam at UFC 97. Kang was dominated in his last fight against Bisping where he was stopped in round 2. It is also being reported that Ultimate Fighter alum Jason Dent and Roli Delgado have also been released by from the promotion. Dent [...]

Hoelzer Reich added to Zuffa banned sponsor list
Earlier today Hoelzer Reich tried to clear the air and apologize for any hurt feelings or misunderstandings that were a result of the German military imagery that they chose to use on their t-shirts. Perhaps it was too little, too late. World Extreme Cagefighting general manager Reed Harris has said Zuffa will no longer allow their fighters to wear Hoelzer Reich apparel. Zuffa is the owner of both the WEC and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). A few Zuffa fighters had previously been sponsored by Hoelzer Reich. Joe Brammer wore his Hoelzer Reich walk-out tee at The Ultimate Fighter Finale which [...]
Jon Jones to appeal DQ loss
Jon “Bones” Jones put on a dominating performance at The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale against Matt Hamill. Jones took Hamill to the ground, which no one has been able to do before in the UFC, and he was landing some viscous ground-and-pound. Jones then threw and landed an illegal 12-6 elbow that cut Hamill. Referee Steve Mazzagatti stepped in and went to deduct a point. When Mazzagatti asked Hamill if he was okay to continue, Hamill just stayed down with his eyes closed forcing Mazzagatti to call an end to the bout. Hamill was rewarded the win due to disqualification. [...]
There have been many articles written on various websites and message boards around the Internet that have done nothing but try to hurt the reputation of the Hoelzer Reich clothing line. Most of the reports have accused the company of promoting Nazism and racism. Neither of these accusations are true and I find them to be disturbing and irresponsible. To automatically associate German colors and military imagery with Nazism is a disrespect to the history of that country which is rooted far deeper than World War II. In order to make such accusations you better have truth. You need to [...]

The medical suspensions from The Ultimate Fighter Finale have been announced. The night, which included four (T)KOs, two submissions, three decisions, and a disqualification, was capped off when Roy “Big Country” Nelson scored a first-round knockout victory over Brendan Schaub. Here is the full list of medical suspensions included: * Brendan Schaub (KO loss to Roy Nelson): Suspended until Jan. 20 with no contact until Jan. 5 for precautionary reasons * Matt Hamill (DQ victory over Jon Jones): Suspended until June 4 due to possible left-shoulder injury, though he can be cleared early by an orthopedic doctor; even if cleared, [...]
WEC to Pay-Per View in 2010
World Extreme Cagefighting general manager Reed Harris announced on MMAWeekly Radio last night that the organization would be on pay-per view by the end of 2010. Reed said, “I think we’re shooting for mid-year at this point, but it could be sooner, it just depends on what happens in January. It depends on how our fights go and our ratings and all that stuff.” This move could very well be the downfall of the WEC. There is no question that the promotion always puts on a great night of fights, but their lack of star power to the general public [...]
