Undefeated Heavyweight Prospect Chad Corvin Signs With UFC

It has been announced today that the Ultimate Fighting Championship has agreed to sign undefeated heavyweight prospect Chad Corvin (6-0) from Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Corwin is just 23-years-old, but he is one of the brightest young heavyweights in the sport.

It’s an honor,” said Corvin. “It’s what everybody hopes for in our line of work, like a minor league baseball player being called up to the majors. I’d like to match up with somebody in the same position as me, new in the UFC, new to the program, and just work my way up. I’m at the bottom right now, so I’ll start at the bottom and go up.”

Josh Johnson — Corvin’s trainer — also spoke on the signing.

“We are excited, this is obviously a great opportunity. It represents the work he has done so far and we expect him to have a bright future in the promotion. He already has the skills to beat fighters in the UFC’s heavyweight division, but is still developing as a fighter and we’re excited to see what he can do.”

Corvin (6′5, 250 lbs) has never been in a fight longer than 2:00 minutes into the first-round. He has disposed of three opponents in under a minute. The quickest win of Corvin’s career came in just 19 seconds over Rico Hattingh in the Xtreme Fighting Championship (featured below).
