Bellator signs heavyweight prospect Cole Konrad

The Bellator Fighting Championships have made announced the signing of top prospect Cole Konrad. He will compete in the promotion’s heavyweight division. Konrad, 26, is incredibly athletic and was recruited by UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar’s wrestling coach Marty Morgan to become a training partner of the UFC champ. Morgan, Lesnar, and UFC heavyweight Chris Tuchscherer cornered Konrad at his fight on Saturday. BJ Penn prepares for tsunami

As many of you know, the nation of Chile was hit today by a massive earthquake that registered a magnitude of 8.8. There has since been a tsunami warning issued to the Pacific basin as a result of the quake. Spencer Fisher out of UFC on Versus bout against Bang Ludwig; Darren Elkins steps in

An anticipated bout between Spencer Fisher and Duane “Bang” Ludwig that was scheduled for the first UFC on Versus card has been called off. Fisher was forced to withdraw from the bout after suffering an undisclosed injury. Darren Elkins will step in to replace Fisher and bring his 9-1 record into the octagon for his UFC debut. Elkins will be looking to spoil Ludwig’s hometown fight. Ludwig vs. Elkins will be a part of the unaired preliminary card at the event which will take place at the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colorado.

Strikeforce will return to CBS on April 17; headlined by Jake Shields vs. Dan Henderson

Wanderlei Silva in Dream Theater music video

Mixed martial arts legend, Wanderlei “The Axe Murderer” Silva is coming off of a unanimous decision victory at UFC 110 against Michael Bisping. The victory in Australia was Silva’s first bout in the middleweight division. Wanderlei won the fight as he showed to be the more aggressive fighter at the end of each round. He almost secured a submission victory at the end of the second frame, and at the end of round 3 Silva dropped Bisping with a viscous flurry of punches.
