Following losses at UFC 109, the Ultimate Fighting Championship has parted ways with UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman, TUF runner-up Phillipe Nover and Tim Hague.
Coleman (16-10) was a main event participant this past weekend, but after his poor showing the UFC has voided his contract. Coleman is unsure of his plans — the MMA legend does not want to retire. While Randy Couture was dominating Coleman, “The Hammer” showed clear signs of age and it appeared as if the sport has passed him by. Dana White is doing him a favor by letting him go from the sports top organization.
Phillipe Nover (5-3-1) has gone 0-3 in the UFC and most recently suffered a loss to Rob Emerson at UFC 109. Nover was hyped up as the “next Anderson Silva” by Dana White while appearing on season 8 of The Ultimate Fighter. Nover has never lived up to his potential.
Tim Hague (10-3) is coming off of two consecutive losses. Prior to his decision loss to Chris Tuchscherer at UFC 109: Relentless, Hague suffered a seven second knockout loss to Todd Duffee — the fastest knockout in UFC history.
