Jon Fitch vs. Thiago Alves II completes official UFC 111 lineup

A bout between two top welterweights Jon Fitch (21-3) and Thiago Alves (16-6) has been added to UFC 111. The long-awaited rematch between Fitch and Alves is the last official bout added to the fight card. Fitch and Alves were initially set to settle the score back at UFC 107 in December, but Alves was forced to withdraw from the bout after suffering a torn posterior cruciate ligament during training. Brock Lesnar Announced Cover Athlete Of UFC Undisputed 2010

Brock Lesnar is coming back from a serious illness and is expected to defend his UFC heavyweight title sometime in late June or early July. There is also some big Lesnar news for those in the gaming community. The champion has been named the next cover athlete for UFC Undisputed 2010. Bellator Fighting Championships Partners With Ultimate Bet

The Bellator Fighting Championships have formed a partnership with the top online poker site, UltimateBet.net. According to a press release from Bellator: Under the terms of the agreement, UB.net will have a prominent presence on all Bellator broadcasts and at Bellator.com as well as a substantial on-site presence at each of the promotion’s events in 2010. Bellator, meanwhile, will have a major presence on the UB.net Web site. Strikeforce: Miami Brings In 517,000 Viewers, UFC 107 Replay Gets 2.2 Million

This past weekend Strikeforce put on one of the biggest shows in the organizations history which featured two title fights and the promotional debuts of top prospect Bobby Lashley and NFL great Herschel Walker. “Strikeforce: Miami” was aired on Showtime and 517,000 viewers tuned in. This is a 51.6 % increase in ratings from the promotions last show “Strikeforce: Evolution” which only brought in 176,000 viewers. Zuffa and the Ultimate Fighting Championship countered Strikeforce’s programming by showing a re-air of  “UFC 107: Penn vs. Sanchez” on Spike TV. Diego Sanchez Set To Face John Hathaway In His Welterweight Return At UFC 114

Diego “Nightmare” Sanchez (21-3) is coming off of a loss to lightweight champion B.J. Penn at UFC 107. Sanchez announced his plans to return to the welterweight division after the bout and the “Nightmare” has a set date for his 170-pound return. Sanchez announced that he will be facing undefeated British striker John Hathaway (12-0) on May 29 in Las Vegas at UFC 114. Jose Canseco is at it again. The former baseball star is performing his latest publicity stunt and hoping to get a mixed martial arts bout with former Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker. Walker (1-0) won his MMA debut this past weekend by scoring a TKO victory over Greg Nagy. Canseco also has one MMA bout, but that was a loss to Hong Man Choi last May at DREAM 9.
