In a stacked card that will already feature two championship bouts, reports are indicating that Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez will face off against DREAM lightweight champ Shinya Aoki.

The match would join Jake Shields vs. Dan Henderson for the middleweight title and Gegard Mousasi vs. “King Mo” Lawal for the light-heavyweight title on the night’s fight card.

Melendez (17-2) earned unified the Strikeforce lightweight title when he defeated Josh Thomson at Strikeforce: Evolution in late December. The win extended “El Nino’s” win streak to three. Aoki (23-4) is also riding a three-fight win streak and earned the DREAM lightweight championship in October when he submitted Joachim Hansen.

This stacked event will take place in Nashville, Tennessee at the Sommet Center and will be the second Strikeforce card to air on CBS.
