Strikeforce challenger Erin Toughill was expected to get the next crack at champion Cris “Cyborg’s” 145-pound title, but for unknown reasons, Toughill is no longer a part of the organization and her title bout with Cyborg has been called off.
“You are hearing it first: I will no longer be fighting for Strikeforce,” the top contender announced on her Facebook page.
Toughill insists that the decision was not made in haste and that she will be taking part in multiple interviews over the next few days to explain “why” she has decided to leave the organization.
She also stated that the end of her impressive career — recording a record of 10-2-1 — could be coming to an end. “Retiring? Don’t know, but am on verge due to basic issues like NOT being able FIGHT!!! I am getting zero return for all I have put in.”
