Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones constructed a beautiful stadium that cost roughly $1.1 billion. He said that his goal is to host the best sporting events out there and he has already secured a future Super Bowl and NCAA basketball Final Four. Current Strikeforce middleweight champion Jake Shields was part of an interview with GracieMag.com and the Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu blackbelt shared some revealing information. Shields’ contract with the Strikeforce organization ends after his April 17th title fight with former UFC and PRIDE champion Dan Henderson. Undefeated heavyweight Roger Gracie (2-0) will be making his Strikeforce debut on May 15 against mixed martial arts veteran Kevin “The Monster” Randleman (17-14). Roger “El Matador” Huerta (20-3-1, 1 NC) was released by the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The lightweight fighter was not a free agent for long, as MMA Junkie is reporting that Huerta has signed with the Bellator Fighting Championships. Reports circulated earlier today that Rich “Ace” Franklin would be headlining UFC 115 in Montreal against Chuck Liddell. MMAjunkie.com had reported that Tito Ortiz, who was set to face Liddell after season 11 of The Ultimate Fighter, was forced to leave taping of the show before it ended. As a result, Franklin stepped in to finish coaching and that is where the Liddell-Franklin talks started. The rumored Liddell vs. Franklin match is false. According to a report from MMA Madness, three prominent fighters from Arizona Combat Sports have left the team. Undefeated middleweight Aaron Simpson (7-0), The Ultimate Fighter season 7 alum C.B. Dollaway (10-2), and TUF 8 winner Ryan Bader (11-0) have all left the gym. Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem has not stepped into the organization’s cage 2007. He has been participating in fights for the K-1 and DREAM organizations. While Overeem has not defended his title, he has been working on his skills in the gym. While Overeem was in the gym, his training partner picked up a pad and let Overeem practice his kicks. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was never one to hold his tongue. In an exclusive interview with Fighters Only Magazine, Rampage touched on some problems he had with the Japanese based Pride FC.
