The “New York Bad Ass” Phil Baroni will be fighting for his roster spot in the Ultimate Fighting Championship at UFC 118, which will take place in August as the UFC’s first trip to Boston, Massachusetts.
MMAjunkie.com reported that sources close to Baroni has said the welterweight brawler has verbally agreed to be a part of the card, but no opponent has been determined at this time.
Baroni is a disappointing 3-6 during his stints with the promotion and a mediocre 13-12 overall. He is coming off of two consecutive losses to Joe Riggs and Amir Sadollah.
UFC 118 is expected to be headlined by a lightweight title fight which will be a rematch between newly crowned champion Frankie Edgar and former champ BJ Penn.
