Chael Sonnen talks fight with Anderson Silva & calls 205-lb division a joke

The loud-mouthed number one middleweight contender, Chael Sonnen, was recently interviewed by Fight! Magazine at the UFC Fan Expo. Among the topics were his shot at the middleweight title and some insults directed towards Rampage Jackson and the entire 205-pound division. Check out the interview:

Zuffa confirms release of Jens Pulver

MMAFighting.com has reported and confirmed that long-time mixed martial arts veteran and fan-favorite Jens Pulver has been released by Zuffa. Pulver was the UFC’s first lightweight champion and one of only two people to defeat former lightweight champ BJ Penn at 155-pounds. Rumors have surfaced that Pulver could resurface in the WEC as a commentator, but MMAFighting.com has debunked those rumors. Pulver’s agent, Monte Cox, told Versus.com that he hoped his client would remain with the company in a broadcasting capacity. But White, Zuffa’s president, said following the UFC 114 press conference on Saturday that will not be the case. [...]

Baroni hopes to “enjoy” final fight at UFC 118

Last Friday, MMA veteran Phil Baroni announced his retirement and then he announced his comeback at UFC 118.  Baroni will step into the octagon for the last time against John Salter in Boston, Massechuesetts.  Following a loss in his return to the UFC last November, Baroni says he hopes to enjoy his last fight and is without a doubt the favorite to win.  His opponent, John Salter, has a UFC record of 1-1 with his solo win being the result of his opponent freakishly breaking his leg midway through the fight.  Nevertheless, given the publicity the fight will now have, [...]

‘UFC 114: Rampage vs. Evans’ medical suspensions

The list of medical suspensions from Saturday’s “UFC 114: Rampage vs. Evans” event that took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas has been released. Here is the full list of suspensions from the Nevada State Athletic Commission: – Dan Miller is suspended until June 29 with no contact until June 20 due to an upper eyelid laceration. – Todd Duffee is suspended until July 14 with no contact until June 29. – Mike Russow is suspended until July 14 with no contact until June 29 at a minimum. Chael Sonnen takes trash talk to Twitter

Chael Sonnen has been talking trash in regards to UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva for quite some time now. He has called Silva a fraud, diva, and attacked his character in almost anyway imaginable. Diego Sanchez heading back down to 155?

Following a loss in his lightweight title fight with former champion BJ Penn at UFC 107, Diego Sanchez headed back up to his old home of 170-pounds.  Sanchez took on British up-and-comer John Hathaway (13-0) this past weekend at “UFC 114: Rampage vs. Evans” in his welterweight debut and it was not what the former title contender had imagined.
