The Shark Fights promotion continues to add to their already loaded card for September 11. MMAjunkie.com is reporting that a middleweight battle between “Filthy” Tom Lawlor (6-3, 1 NC) and Patrick Cote (13-6) will take place at UFC 121. UFC 121 is set for October 23 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The fight card is headlined by a heavyweight title bout between champion Brock Lesnar and number one contender, Cain Velasquez. According to Cage Potato: NBC will finally made its foray into the world of mixed martial arts in September when it airs its Ultimate Women Challenge MMA reality show. The show, which was originally scheduled to run last fall, will be hosted by Bas Rutten and model and Dancing with the Stars competitor Joanna Krupa. Air dates of the show and and its time slot have yet to be announced by NBC, leading me to believe it isn’t a lock for the fall, despite the website’s statement claiming otherwise. Lyoto Machida lost his light-heavyweight belt and suffered the first loss of his career when he was knocked out by Shogun Rua in the first-round at UFC 113. The former champ will now try to recover from the loss as he faces off against former PRIDE superstar and the first man to unify a PRIDE and UFC title, Rampage Jackson. After dropping his return to the welterweight division to John Hathaway at UFC 114, many speculated that former lightweight title contender Diego Sanchez would return to 155. Sanchez must have other plans as he will stay at 170-pounds and face welterweight Paulo Thiago at UFC 121. UFC 121 is expected to be held October 23 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. On August 7th, UFC welterweight Dustin “McLovin’” Hazelett will step into the octagon for the first time since a loss in January to Paul Daley. In the bout, Hazelett  suffered a broken orbital bone that was expected to keep him out for a lengthy amount of time. Brock Lesnar’s win over Shane Carwin came in stunning fashion. It did not shock people that Lesnar handed Carwin the first defeat of his career, but the method of victory was the surprise. Lesnar defeated Carwin by submission.
