Brock Lesnar handed Shane Carwin the first loss of his career this past Saturday on the way to becoming the UFC’s undisputed heavyweight champion. UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar (5-1) had an incredible title defense in his last outing as he earned submission of the night honors over number one contender Shane Carwin. We all know that undefeated Cain Velasquez (8-0) will be Lesnar’s next test, but it looks like the match could come sooner than anticipated. Health permitting, the fight will take place at the Canseco Fieldhouse on September 25th in Indianapolis, Indiana. In what is being billed the “biggest heavyweight fight in UFC history,” current champion Brock Lesnar and interim champ Shane Carwin will do battle in the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas to unify the organization’s heavyweight strap. Lesnar has been out of action for almost a year, since manhandling Frank Mir — the same opponent that Shane Carwin disposed of in March.
