Paul Daley’s foolish post-fight antics got him booted from the UFC. For those who don’t remember, Daley sucker punched Josh Koscheck after the bell at UFC 113. A lot of trash talk led up to the bout and Koscheck dominated from the get go — this ultimately led to Daley’s frustration.
Now, Daley is on his road to redemption.
Daley has had two fights since being kicked out of the organization in May. “Semtex” submitted Daniel Acacio at Impact FC 2 and then defeated Jorge Masvidal via unanimous decision at Shark Fights 13 in September. He signed with Strikeforce shortly after the Masvidal fight.
His opponent for the anticipated Strikeforce debut is now set. On December 4th, Daley will be facing off against heavy-handed Scott Smith at 170-pounds. This is a drop in weight class for Smith — who usually fights at middleweight (185-pounds).
Strikeforce’s December 4th event is set to take place in St. Louis and will be headlined by a light-heavyweight bout between two MMA superstars and former champions, Dan Henderson and Renato “Babalu” Sobral.
