Jon Fitch is being passed over for a title shot in favour of Jake Shields, it has been confirmed. Fitch thought he was in line for a title shot after beating (x) at (x) but Shields vacated his Strikeforce middleweight belt to join the UFC and, having beaten Martin Kampmann on his debut, has now leapfrogged the AKA man to the top of the queue.

“Is Jake Shields getting a title shot over Fitch? Yes,” UFC president Dana White said today when asked if Fitch was definitely out of the title picture for now.
