Tim Sylvia Gets Knocked Out In 32 Seconds At Titan FC

AUTHOR: | IN: MMA | COMMENTS: None Yet

Former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia was riding a four fight win streak, but that was abruptly ended at Titan FC when The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights alum Abe Wagner disposed of him in only 32 seconds. It was an ugly performance for the former champ who looks like it is time for him to hang it up. Sylvia just couldn’t hang with Wagner’s speed. Below are some GIF’s and a video of the fight.

Big Matt’s Fight Chat: The Duke Roufus Heavyweights

AUTHOR: | IN: MMA | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

UFC’s Fight For The Troops was by no means a high-profile card.  It wasn’t supposed to be.  It was supposed to raise money for a charity and provide free entertainment for the troops and those of us watching on Spike.  I would’ve liked another relevant fight, but the UFC likes to have an extremely wide disparity between PPV events and free ones.  Always the dollars.  Always the f***in’ dollars. I’m not interested in Mark Hominick or Matt Wiman, so those fights didn’t do much for me.  The main event was compelling on paper and in actuality.  But what really drew me [...]

Brock Lesnar & Junior Dos Santos Named TUF 13 Coaches; Winner Gets Title Shot

AUTHOR: | IN: TUF | COMMENTS: None Yet

Clipped from: mmajunkie.com (share this clip) Over the past couple months, many UFC veterans had been rumored for potential “TUF 13″ coaching slots, including Frankie Edgar, Gray Maynard, Frank Mir, Shane Carwin, Wanderlei Silva, Chael Sonnen, Chris Leben, Brian Stann, Dominick Cruz, Urijah Faber, Anthony Pettis, Jose Aldo and others. Ultimately, though, officials went with the big men, Lesnar and Dos Santos. White said Velasquez’s recent shoulder surgery and long layoff opened the door for Lesnar and Dos Santos, which then “made all the sense in the world.” However, no interim title will be on the line when the coaches [...]

Dana’s Itchy Trigger Finger

AUTHOR: | IN: MMA | COMMENTS: None Yet

UFC 125 was a spectacular card full of great fights.  Unfortunately, it was also an MMA graveyard.  Marcus Davis, Antonio McKee, Brandon Vera and Phil Baroni were all cut following their losses.  Most of these moves weren’t that surprising, but still, damn.  Those are a bunch of fighters we all know, and in most cases, have watched for years.  But this is the new, post-merger UFC.  I’m not sure I like it.  I’m not trying to say all these guys deserved to stick around.  Baroni is cooked, and Davis is probably heading down that road as well.  Vera might not [...]
