Paul Daley Predicts First Round Knockout Of Yuya Shirai At BAMMA 5

It was supposed to be a welterweight title fight, but that all changed when Paul “Semtex” Daley (26-9-2) missed weight. What didn’t change was the plan of attack for the striking specialist who still plans on sending a message to Strikeforce welterweight champ Nick Diaz and ending the fight quickly.

“I apologise to [Yuya] Shirai and the fans for missing weight,” said Daley” Although the fight is three rounds now I only need oneround to knock him out. The fans come to see me win the title but I promise them, title or not, I’ll win this fight and win it in style. Then I’m going after Diaz and I want to send him out the message that I mean business with my performance tomorrow night.”

Everytime Paul Daley is in action, there are fireworks — unless, of course, he is being blanketed by Josh Koscheck. Semtex is currently riding a three fight win streak, with his most recent victory being a spectacular knockout of slugger Scott Smith last December.

Semtex’s opponent, Yuya Shirai, has won his last five fights.
