UFC on Fuel TV 1 Main Card Predictions

The UFC is having it’s first Fuel card Wednesday with a headline of Jake Ellenberger vs. Diego Sanchez. Here are the main card predictions for the fights.

Ivan Menjivar vs. John Albert

Albert, the former TUF veteran, is fighting for the first time since his knockout against Dustin Pague at The Ultimate Fighter 14 finale against the veteran Menjivar. Prince showed explosive power in his first UFC fight and showed good submission skills on the show. Menjivar has won two straight and is looking for a third. He has fought some big names in the WEC and UFC and will look to add to his resume.

Prediction: Menjivar by Unanimous Decision

Walel Watson vs. T.J. Dillashaw

Another TUF veteran, Dillashaw will look to get back to his winning ways after a loss against the explosive John Dodson. Dillashaw is a very well rounded fighter and will look to give Watson his second loss in a row.

Prediction: Dillashaw by Unanimous Decision

Stipe Miocic vs. Phillip De Fries

This is a battle of two undefeated prospects. Miocic is coming off a win in his debut against Joey Beltran. He is a former nationally ranked wrestler and is looking to get his name into contention. De Fries is a BJJ purple belt and also won his UFC debut. Look for Miocic to use his superior stand up to negate De Fries submission skills.

Prediction: Miocic by 3rd round TKO

Aaron Simpson vs. Ronny Markes

Simpson has great knockout power and will look to win his third straight UFC bout. He’s 6-2 in his UFC career and is looking to move up the ladder at light heavyweight. Markes is a Nova Uniao fighter who is 12-1 who has great jiu-jitsu skills. Simpson has superior stand up and will look to utilize that.

Prediction: Simpson by 1st round TKO.

Stefan Struve vs. Dave Herman

Struve showed off his submission skills in his win against Pat Berry and will face 21-2 Herman. Pee Wee knocked out John-Olav Einemo, but looked gassed. Struve has the better submissions and has shown he can take a punch. If Herman gasses out this will be over quickly.

Prediction: Struve by 2nd round submission

Diego Sanchez vs. Jake Ellenberger

In the main event is two fighters looking to throw their name in the welterweight title hat. Ellenberger knocked out Jake Shields in his last fight while Diego Sanchez beat Martin Kampmann in a controversial decision. Both have great wrestling and obvious power in their hands. Sanchez will look to use his cardio to push the pace and tire Ellenberger out.

Prediction: Sanchez by Unanimous Decision
