Josh Barnett vs Frank Mir Signed On For UFC 164

UFC 164 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is set to be a amazing night this coming summer. We have now learned that Josh Barnett will be making his return to the UFC at 164 to take on former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir.

Josh Barnett and the UFC have agreed on a new contract just 8 days ago on May 21st. And finding a opponet turned out to be easy he will be squaring off against a hunger Frank Mir. Frank Mir is really hunger to get back on a winning ways. In his last two bouts Mir was unsuccessful he faced off against former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos in May of last year and in April ended his rivalry against Daniel Cormier at UFC on Fox. Frank Mir for the first time in his UFC career is riding a two fight losing streak and will becoming into UFC 164 very hungry to get back on a winning ways and get himself back in the title picture.

As for Josh Barnett, his last run in the UFC came out to be very disappointing he tested positive for steroid use and was stripped of his UFC Heavyweight Championship at the conclusion of his UFC 36 bout against Randy “The Natural” Couture.

Since being released from the UFC Barnett has had great success in PRIDE, DREAM and as well as Strikeforce. Barnett has not won a title since being stripped of his title at UFC 36 and like Mir he is hungry to get back into the title picture with a victory at UFC 164.
