Douglas Lima Sustains A Injury And Is Force Off Bellator MMA 97

Bellator’s Douglas Lima has announced that he has sustained a broken hand and will not be able to continue on to Bellator 97 to face off against Ben Saunders in the Welterweight Season 8 Tournament.

Bellator 97 is set for July 31st in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Bellator is currently not releasing if whether or not Ben Saunders will remain on the fight card and face off against another opponent on the card. The once scheduled fight between Douglas Lima and Ben Saunders were once scheduled to take place on the main card on Spike TV.

Douglas Lima joined the Welterweight tournament in January and has been on a complete tear since then. Lima got his way into the finals vs. Ben Saunders by taking down Michail Tsarev at Bellator 86 and Bryan Baker at Bellator 90.

Lima vs. Saunders is a set and done and ready to fight once after Lima is healed from the injury then Saunders will face off against him in a future Bellator event.
