Roy Nelson vs. Mark Hunt would be a bloody brawl

Roy “Big Country” Nelson (19-8) did not exactly finish the last fight on his UFC contract in the way he had wanted to.

Nelson, who had been riding a three-fight losing streak, ended up losing the decision to Croatian fighter Stipe Miocic (10-1) and with that any bargaining chip he could have brought to contract negotiations. If Nelson does decide to resign with the UFC, his next opponent should be K-1 World Grand Prix champion Mark Hunt (8-7).

A fight between Nelson and Hunt a would be a good striking battle as both fighters have powerful hands that can deliver those one-punch knockouts. However this fight may not be for fans who get squeamish at the sight of blood. Hunt and Nelson are known for their durable chins and ended up bloody after their last fights.

This match would also benefit both fighters. For Nelson, this would be a start to another successful UFC run. For Hunt, defeating Big Country would not only set him back on the winning track, but also get him in the good graces of UFC President Dana White, whose issues with Nelson are known to fans and the media.

Both fighters are also fan favorites, which means the match itself could be a major draw at a future UFC event.
