Chris Leben's Future In The UFC

Personally being the biggest Chris Leben fan there has ever been in the United States. The Crippler is currently going through a downward spiral in his UFC career.

Leben is currently riding a three fight losing streak in the UFC. The losing streak began back at UFC 138 where Leben lost to Mark Munoz. Leben would later test positive for oxy-contin and was suspended for a year from the promotion.

Leben made his return to the promotion at UFC 155 where he took on Derek Brunson and lost the fight via unanimous decision. Hoping to get back in the winning circle Leben this past Saturday took on Andrew Craig at UFC 162. Leben and Craig fought back and forth for 15 long minutes. And at the end Leben was shocked that he was not crowned winner after losing via Split-Decision at 162.

Dana White after UFC 162 spoke about Chris Leben stating that “His fight style is not healthy for him”. Leben at one time was a top contender in the UFC’s Middleweight division. He holds win over Wanderlei Silva and Akiyama. But with the losses of his recent three fights are putting him on hold to fight his way back into title contention.

The 32-year-old Chris Leben has gone passed the prime of his fighting career and at the age of 32 he is showing no signs of slowing down. Chris Leben should get one more fight in the UFC to prove to the fans that at 32 years old he still has it and that he want’s a shot at Chris Weidman and that Middleweight title.
