Felice Herrig vs. Joanne Calderwood has “Fight of the Night” potential

For recent Invicta Fighting Championships signee Felice “Lil’ Bulldog” Herrig, it did not take long for her to decide who she would like to face when she steps into the Invicta cage for the first time.

Herrig recently called out undefeated Scottish striking sensation Joanne Calderwood, who has been climbing up the 115-pound rankings. A match between Calderwood and Herrig would be a great addition to Invicta’s next fight card. It could even be a candidate for “Fight of the Night.”

With both fighters having experience in Muay Thai and kickboxing, the Lil’ Bulldog and Calderwood could put on an exciting show for the fans, especially when it comes to the striking game. Herrig has been known to scrap with her opponents for the duration of the fight. Meanwhile Calderwood has been known to blast her opponents with her power and is on her way of becoming one of the most dangerous strikers in the women’s 115-pound division.

Herrig may have the edge when it comes to the ground game and overall fighting experience. She is also good at hyping her fights. Meanwhile Calderwood has been impressive in her career so far, overcoming every obstacle that comes her way.

If Herrig wins, it will be the beginning of a successful run in Invicta FC. As for Calderwood, a victory over the Lil’ Bulldog could be the stepping stone before she gets a shot at the Invicta FC Strawweight championship.

When Herrig and Calderwood eventually stand across each other in the cage seconds before the bell, the crowd will be on their feet.
