It has been almost a year since Cage Warriors has had a lightweight champion.

The European-based promotion will host a one-night four-man tournament to crown a new 155-pound title holder at Cage Warriors 60, Oct. 5.

Two of the four fighters who will be participating in the tournament, Ivan Buchinger and Jason Ball, have fought inside of the Cage Warriors cage. The other two combatants, Stevie Ray and Mick Sinclair, will be making their Cage Warriors debut.

This is good for Cage Warriors, who has not had a lightweight champion since former champion Conor McGregor vacated the championship when he signed with the UFC in February 2013. This gives the promotion an opportunity to create a new face for the company and take their lightweight division into a new era.

The bracket for the four-man tournament has not been released at this time.

Combatants

Stevie “Braveheart” Ray “Braveheart” (12-4)

Ivan “Buki” Buchinger “Buki” (23-4)

Mick “English Bull Terrier” Sinclair (12-3)

Jason “Daddy Cool”  Ball  (20-12)
