As he inches his way up the UFC Heavyweight rankings, Travis Browne will face the toughest test in his career.

Browne will face former UFC and Pancrase champion Josh “The Warmaster” Barnett at UFC 168 in December.

In his last fight, Browne scored an impressive knockout win over Alistair Overeem back in August. While a victory over the “Demolition Man” means Browne can match up against the best strikers in combat sports. Now he will face one of the best grapplers in mixed martial arts.

Barnett is coming off of a big TKO victory over Frank Mir in his first UFC fight in 11 years. Barnett has 20 submissions on his record and has submitted a who’s who of elite strikers.

But Browne is no stranger to big competition. Prior to facing Overeem, he faced former UFC title contender Gabriel Gonzaga back in April in a match where Browne Gonzaga, a fourth degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, in 71 seconds.

A win over Barnett could earn Browne a match against one of the top fighters in the UFC division.
