The news of Yushin “Thunder” Okami recently made rounds on the internet.

It comes as a surprise that the former middleweight title contender was let go, especially after going 3-1 in his last four fights

What isn’t surprising is UFC President Dana White saying that Okami would be welcomed back into the organization if he could pick up a couple of impressive wins in other organizations.

One option for Okami would be to return travel across the pond and compete in European and Asian organizations. With his skill level and caliber of opponents, Okami could either earn the wins to get back into the UFC or he could compete and become a world champion in an organization like Cage Warriors Fighting Championship or One Fighting Championship.

Having Okami in their ranks would not only add some additional credibility to those organizations, but also he would provide a great challenge for any up-and-coming 185 pound fighters who want to make a name for themselves in those promotions.

He could also be welcomed into Bellator, like other UFC veterans. Okami has a decision win over former Bellator Middleweight champion Hector Lombard and he could very well win a future tournament and get a shot at the Bellator middleweight title.

Still, if Okami wants to count himself among the best fighters in the world, he will do whatever it takes to make it back to the UFC.
