Mixed martial artist Amber “The Bully” Brown is one of many women fighters who are hoping to get a chance to fight in Invicta FC.
As I was roaming Twitter I noticed she sent a tweet saying she would fight anyone in the promotion. After a follower suggested she fill out the Athlete Registration on the Invicta FC website, I decided to look up Brown’s record and I was impressed at what I found.
Brown is 3-1 in her professional career that includes two victories in King of the Cage. What caught my eye was she fought twice in Pancrase, one of the earliest MMA promotions in the world.
Women fighters like Tara LaRosa, Rin Nakai and Danielle West have stepped foot in the Pancrase ring. Legends like Bas Rutten, Josh Barnett and the Shamrocks were all Kings of Pancrase at one time.
The Bully is 1-1 in the promotion. In her last fight she submitted former Jewels Grand Prix champion Kikuyo Ishikawa with an armbar in the third round.
Another thing that surprised and impressed me was that Brown has a family, which cannot be easy. As Jon Aink likes said when Cat Zingano walked to the octagon for the first time, you have to respect mothers who climb into the cage.
Brown has the skills and the experience to fit in with the other talented fighters in Invicta FC’s 105-pound weight class and I think she would be could fight at an Invicta FC event in 2014.
