As the days led up to Chael Sonnen’s fight against former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Rashad Evans, there were several critics, including “Suga” that speculated that Sonnen’s head was not focus on the fight. Sonnen even admitted to being distracted leading up to the match up.

These distractions may have included Sonnen’s war with Wanderlei Silva, as well as his recent marriage. Another factor could have been Sonnen’s willingness to fight Evans a few months after he fought Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.

Whether or not these distractions had any affect, the former middleweight and light heavyweight title contender would lose to Evans, at UFC 167, after the former champion scored a TKO in the first round.

Now that Sonnen is done with Evans, he can focus on his upcoming coaching stint on “The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3“ against rival Wanderlei Silva. In addition to his war with “The Axe Murderer”, Sonnen can put his energy in coaching his team on the show.

As we have learned in the past, a focused Sonnen can be a dangerous one.
