Although she is no longer competing in the cage, former UFC star and women’s MMA pioneer Julie “Fireball” Kedzie will continue to be involved with the sport.

Invicta Fighting Championships announced that Kedzie will be the promotion’s matchmaker. Invicta FC has put together some of the best female bouts in MMA history and there is no doubt that Kedzie will do a great job in her new behind the scenes role.

Kedzie has served as a commentator at all but one of the promotion’s events. Her knowledge of mixed martial arts and experience in working with different competitors will help her set up exciting bouts at future Invicta events.

Prior to Kedzie taking the reigns of bout-creator, Invicta’s original matchmaker was Janet Martin. She was let go from the promotion earlier this year.

Kedzie retired from MMA competition after a two-fight stint in the UFC. Now that she has fulfilled a goal of fighting in the octagon, she can now help carry Invicta FC into the future.
