UFC star Tyron Woodley gets a chance to break into the top 10 welterweight rankings, but it is not going to be an easy task.

“The Chosen One” will face former WEC Welterweight champion and UFC Interim Welterweight champion Carlos “The Natural Born Killer” Condit at UFC 171, March 15, 2014.

According to reports, Woodley had been texting UFC President Dana White, asking him for a big fight. After his impressive “Knockout of the Night” victory over Josh Koscheck, The Chosen One earned himself an opponent in the upper rankings.

White had initially said that Woodley would not be fighting Condit; however the UFC president seemed to have a change of heart about the matter. Condit was originally scheduled to take on Matt Brown at this past weekend’s UFC on Fox event, but Brown was forced to pull out of the fight due to injury.

UFC 171 is scheduled to be headlined by the welterweight title match between Johnny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler. If Woodley defeats Condit in the same way he beat Koscheck, The Chosen One could be the next in line for a shot at the 170-pound title.
