Combat sports veteran Sergei Kharitonov is no stranger to big fights.

The Russian star has gone up against some of the top heavyweights in the world in Pride Fighting Championships, DREAM and Strikeforce.

While he has racked up victories over big names including Alistair Overeem, Andrei Arlovski and Fabricio Werdum. Now Kharitonov will step up against his biggest adversary in the kickboxing ring when he faces fighting Frenchman and former K-1 World Grand Prix runner-up winner Jérôme “Geronimo” Le Banner at Glory 13, Dec. 21, in Tokyo Japan.

Kharitonov and Le Banner were originally supposed to square off in September at Glory 10 in Los Angeles; however the French star pulled out of the fight due to a neck injury. Yet it is fitting that Kharitonov faces Le Banner in Japan, where both men rose to stardom in several sports.

If Kharitonov can defeat Le Banner, he could be on the path toward a successful run in kickboxing. It could also help him get more MMA fights across the world.
