It is official.
According to reports, Legacy President Mick Maynard confirmed that undefeated prospect Holly Holm will meet Brazilian star Juliana Werner for the Legacy Women’s Bantamweight championship, in April 2014.
Holm, who is also a multiple-time professional boxing champion, has been on a roll since she made her MMA debut in 2011, winning all six of her matches.
Although “The Preacher’s Daughter” has momentum on her side, Werner will provide a good challenge for the New Mexico native. Werner has been on an impressive four-fight winning streak. She also racked up a record of 24-3 and multiple championships as a professional kickboxer.
Needless to say, this fight could an exciting scrap is both combatants decide to keep it on the feet. With the match taking place in Albuquerque, N.M., there is no doubt that Holm will have the hometown crowd at her side.
If Holm defeats Werner and captures her first professional championship, she could raise the interest of Invicta Fighting Championship, or maybe even the UFC. The same could be easily be said for Werner.
