IGF “Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye 2013″ continues tradition of combat sports on New Year’s Eve

For over 10 years, the Land of the Rising Sun has hosted combat sporting events to ring in the new year and the Inoki Genome Federation will continue that custom when it hosts “Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye 2013” on New Year’s Eve, the Ryogoku Kokugikanin in Tokyo, Japan.

In previous Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye events, there has been a who’s who of fighters who have competed on the card, including Pride FC Heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko, K-1 World Grand Prix champion Mirko “Cro Cop” and former UFC Heavyweight champion Josh Barnett.

This year’s event will feature several mixed martial arts and puroresu – or professional wrestling to us in the states – bouts, as well as a fight with MMA/K-1 rules.

In the main event of the MMA portion of the card, IGF champion and Pride Grand Prix semi-finalist Kazuyuki Fujita will take on superstar Satoshi Ishii, who defeated Tim Sylvia at last year’s Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye event.

Other bouts on the MMA portion of the bout include ONE FC Lightweight champion Shinya Aoki going up against Toshikatsu Harada, DREAM Super Hulk champion Ikuhisa Minowa squaring off against professional wrestler Atsuhsi Sawada, UFC veteran Philip De Fries facing Strikeforce Grand Prix participant Brett Rogers and DEEP Light champion Satoru Kitaoka taking on Russian prospect Ramazan Esenbaev.

IGF Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye 2013 will be streamed on iPPV on New Year’s Eve, with a cost of around $17.
