With a year under their belt, World Series of Fighting plans to put on events Brazil and it appears the promotion already has a bout for the first event.

Former Legacy FC Lightweight Jorge Patino “Macaco” and Pride Fighting Championships veteran Jose “Pele” Landi-Jons (28-15) have agreed to face each other in WSOF’s first Brazil card. The two have faced each other twice before in the Vale Tudo ring, with Pele winning both fights.

This bout will be a treat for Brazilian, as well as North American fans as both Patino and Landi-Jons have been fighting for years.

WSOF has a wealth of a plethora of Brazilian talent, including Jorge Santiago, Paulo Filho and Gesias Cavalcante, all of whom have been world champions in Japanese and United States promotions. There are also several members of the Gracie family signed to the promotion.

According to an interview with MMAFighting.com, WSOF’s executive vice president Ali Abdel-Aziz said the promotion is in negotiations to hold the event next year.

This is a great move for the promotion. By going to Brazil, WSOF can get into bigger markets and have more exposure. This also gives them a chance to scout for up-and-coming talent in South America.
