Featherweight champion Jim Alers also scored a submission in his title fight against Graham Turner. The champion secured a north-south choke to tap Turner in the second round.

In other action, UFC veteran John Maguire was successful in his Cage Warriors debut, defeating Philip Mulpeter by decision. Ireland-native Aisling Daily snapped a three-fight losing streak when she beat Karla Benitez with an armbar in the second round.
