Former Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight champion Miesha “Cupcake” Tate engaged in one of the biggest battles in the women’s 135-pound division when she took on champion Ronda Rousey for the second time.
While Tate was the first to take the “Rowdy” one past the first and second round, the champion would find a way to secure her trademark armbar and force the submission. Tate tried to shake the champion’s hand after the fight, but Rousey merely walked away.
In this interview, Tate talks about escaping Rousey’s earlier attempts at an armbar. She also discusses the advice her corner gave her during the match.
Tate showed great courage during the fight and she proved herself as one of the toughest fighters in the UFC’s female 135-pound weight class.
