Din Thomas retires from MMA

Bellator MMA standout Brent Weedman was not the only fighter to hang up his gloves.

UFC veteran Din “Dinyero” Thomas announced his retirement from mixed martial arts, Jan. 2.

Thomas, a native of Delaware, went 26-9 with one no contest in his MMA career. Throughout the course of his career, he attained victories over several world champions including Matt Serra, Clay Guida and Jens Pulver.

During his run in the UFC, Thomas earned “Fight of the Night” honors in his bout with Guida, as well as a  ”Submission of the Night” bonus He was also a participant on “The Ultimate Fighter 4.”

Thomas has also fought in several promotions outside of the UFC. He In his last fight, he lost to Georgi Karakhanyan by decision at Legacy Fighting Championship back in April 2013.
