Shayna Baszler and the “4 Horsewomen” should compete at Wrestlemania XXX

Professional wrestling fans, specifically WWE lovers know that the road to Wrestlemania begins with the Royal Rumble, which will take place Jan. 26.

WWE fans also know that Wrestlemania is an event that not only showcases the promotion’s top talent, but also brings in athletes and other celebrities in the event. There have been occasions where boxers and MMA fighters have joined in the festivities and I think Wrestlemania XXX could benefit from having not just one, but four MMA fighters at the event.

During Smackdown, MMA veteran Shayna Baszler took to Twitter and wrote “I say ANY 2 of the #4horsewomen vs the Bellas!!”

By 4 Horsewomen, the “Queen of Spades” referred to her “TUF” coaches Ronda Rousey and Marina Shafir and her Team Rousey teammate Jessamyn “The Gun” Duke.

Baszler and Rousey are fans of wrestling. The Queen of Spades and Duke recently released some Instagram of Baszler demonstrating moves during workouts. During a post-fight interview, Rousey mentioned she had been a fan of heels.

All four fighters have great grappling and mat skills, which would help make the match more exciting for fans.

Although it would be great to see Baszler and the Horsewomen at the event, Rousey may be restricted from competing in an environment like the WWE. She is also scheduled to defend her women’s bantamweight title against Sara McMann at UFC 170, Feb. 22. Duke has one victory in the UFC, though it is unknown whether or not she will compete in the octagon later this year.

Shafir, known to fans “The Supernova from Moldova,” might be the more logical choice as she does not have any commitments at the moment. Baszler and Shafir have also been likened to Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard, respectively, so it would not be all that surprising if they tagged together for a match against the Bellas or any other Divas team thrown their way.

Wrestlemania has had several combat sports stars participate in the event, including Ken Shamrock, Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather. More importantly, it is widely known that MMA fighters and professional wrestlers are fans of each other’s work.

As for the match itself, I say have two of the 4Horsewomen – or all four if White will allow it – against the entire case of WWE “Total Divas.” But that’s just me.
