Ali Abdel-Aziz proposes WSOF vs. Bellator pay per view

Two promotions holding crossover events are not common outside of the country of Japan; however one U.S. based promotion has proposed to battle with another.

On “The MMA Hour” World Series of Fighting matchmaker Ali Abdel-Aziz proposed a challenge to Bellator to hold an event having their fighters take on competitors from WSOF. Following the challenge, Abdel-Aziz tweeted the proposed line-up, which included a main event bout between former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson against Glory 95 kg Slam Champion Tyrone Spong.

This is reminiscent of some of past events where promotions would put together a card featuring one group of fighters against others, including Pride Fighting Championship vs. K-1 at Pride Showave in 2002 and DREAM vs. Sengoku Raiden Championships at Dynamite!! 2009.

While the line-up intrigues me, I think this card could he held on Spike TV or NBC Sports Network rather than a pay per view. Bellator has not responded to the challenge.
