AXS TV Fights vs. WSOF should happen

Less than a week after World Series of Fighting issued a challenge to Bellator MMA regarding a possible cross-promotion pay per view, another promotion has come forward with a proposition of their own.

AXS TV Fights CEO Andrew Simon appeared on MMAJunkie Radio where he issued his own idea of a card featuring WSOF stars facing five fighters who have appeared on AXS TV Fights network, which features events from several regional and smaller promotions, including Legacy FC, MFC and RFA.

Simon mentioned that AXS TV has helped put several up-and-coming fighters on the map, including 19 who have gone on to the UFC.

To be honest, I am more intrigued by the idea of having WSOF take on fighters from AXS TV, especially since it seems like Bellator wants to become an island unto themselves, kind of  like the UFC.

WSOF and promotions with events that appear on AXS TV Fights have rosters that feature both past MMA veterans and hot prospects. One thing Bellator lacks is a women’s division while AXS TV Fights have featured events with Holly Holm and Cris “Cyborg” Justino. WSOF wants to establish two women’s weight classes and I am sure Simon could build an event that features WSOF female fighters against women who have appeared on AXS TV Fights.
