The next challenger for UFC Heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez may be decision in April as top contenders Fabricio Werdum and Travis Browne are scheduled to square off at UFC on FOX 11, at Amway Center in Orlando.
Browne is coming off an impressive 2013 where he finished former UFC title contender Gabriel Gonzaga and former world champions Alistair Overeem and Josh Barnett. In all three of these bouts, Browne earned “Knockout of the Night” awards.
Werdum is also on a three-fight winning streak, which includes avenging a loss against Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and a “Fight of the Night” performance against “Big Country” Roy Nelson.
Although Werdum has excellent Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Browne has avoided falling into any traps that could force him to submit. Still, Werdum has also improved on his striking in recent fights and may decide to engage Browne in a stand-up war.
