The main event saw Barao land 37 total strikes to Faber’s 9, of course the majority of them coming when Barao had Faber hurt from the right hand that dropped him.

Totals not surprising, given how the fight went. However to point out a few things that might surprise you. Lamas out landed Aldo in the 4th round 20-16 in total strikes, a round where Aldo spent most of in top control. And 0 significant strikes landed in the 5th round from Aldo.

Alan Patrick def. John Makdessi via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)

Despite being out landed in each of the 3 rounds by Makdessi (61 to 40 in total significant strikes), and landing just 2 of 11 total takedowns in the fight, Alan Patrick walked away with the unanimous decision. With all three judges giving Patrick the 1st and 3rd rounds unanimously.

Nick Catone def. Tom Watson via Split Decision (30-27, 29-28, 28-29)

This fight came down to the strikes landed by Watson—which he out struck Catone in rounds 2 (17-7) and 3 (22-8), and the late takedowns landed by Catone—landing 2 in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, the takedowns ultimately decided the fight.

None of the three rounds were unanimously won by either fighter, however Catone won each round on two of the judges’ scorecards.

Al Iaquinta def. Kevin Lee via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-27)

The only thing unsual in this fight was that one judge (Dave Tirelli) had scored two 10-8 rounds to result in the 28-27 score for Iaquinta. Giving the 1st round to Iaquinta who scored a knockdown of Lee and a near leg lock attempt. While scoring the 2nd round a 10-8 for Lee, who took down and had control of Iaquinta’s back for nearly 4 whole minutes.
