Left with no opponent, Daniel Cormier is “sad” Mark D. Smith-USA TODAY Sports

When it rains, it pours. Arrests, failed drug tests and now injuries. The week keeps getting crazier. Rashad is Injured, Daniel Cormier is Sad Fight fans got word late Wednesday night that a leg injury would force Rashad Evans out of his fight with Daniel Cormier at UFC 170. This was a big blow to the card, and more specifically for Cormier, who was looking to make a thunderous enterence to the light heavyweight division. Cormier is considered a legitimate threat to Jon Jones reign as champion, and a win over Evans would have leaped him up the ladder of the contenders. Instead, UFC 170 is left a much weaker card – Rousey/McMann will have to sell and steal the show to keep the show strong. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from this fight; both guys are great competitors but are severely lacking in the excitement category. Check out Jacob Cooper’s main piece here Alistair Running from JDS?  Is there a bigger enigma in the sport than Alistair Overeem? He has the look of a beast, the kick boxing skills of a champion, and apparently the judgement of Vegas fight judge. Dana White claims that he offered him two separate fights against Junior Dos Santos and Overeem baulked at both. Why? Is he looking for an easier opponent? His call out of Brock Lesnar was laughable. If Overeem really does believe he has the best stand up game of any heavyweight fighter, he needs to put that to the test against a warrior like JDS. Check out the main piece on Overeem What’s Going on with Jessica Eye?  Trying to figure out this situation is headache inducing. Never has an over turned decision been more confusing – was it a judge mishap? Blood thinners? Steroids? Marijuana? It ends up that she doesn’t get suspended for her marijuana use, yet a guy like Nick Diaz gets a year long ban. How does this make sense to anyone? Rolo Lorenty does his best to add to some clarity to this confusing situation here Have you ever wondered what Mark Munoz would like taking the place of Miley Cyrus? Really, no? Check out Kevin Thang’s piece here If you missed my pieces on Ronda Rousey and Lyoto Machida, check them out. Until tomorrow!
