Jon Jones challenges Joe Lauzon to BJJ match

It all started Wednesday evening when the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Jon Jones went on twitter to ask the fans a simple question, “What I could do to make this Twitter experience more enjoyable for you?”

This led to a fan suggesting that he do a Q&A with the fans

Which then led to, a fan suggesting that he challenge UFC lightweight Joe Lauzon to a jiu-jitsu match.

Jones obliged.

Just a few minutes later, this challenge was met with an immediate response from Lauzon.

Even suggesting the type of tape Jones should use to tape his hands with:

Jones then may have had 2nd thoughts on the idea:

But it was too late to back down, Lauzon continued to urge the idea.

The whole situation came to an abrupt end as Jones had to go to practice, but did conclude with some show of promise:

Lauzon took it a step further, bringing up his infamous submission match with ‘Nick The Tooth’ on Dana’s video blog, in which Lauzon subbed Nick a total of 6 times to earn $6000 ($1000 for each sub).

As of now the challenge has been left in open by Lauzon—with an earlier suggestion by Jones that they do it for charity—right now the proverbial ball is in Jones’ court.

Who do you think would win in a jiu-jitsu match between Jon Jones and Joe Lauzon?

If Jones is actually gonna have his hands taped closed, my money is on Lauzon
