The main event for ONE FC 15: Rise of Heroes–which will take place on May 2nd in SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Philippines–has been announced. A ONE FC bantamweight title fight between champion, Bibiano Fernandes (15-3) and challenger, Masakatsu Ueda (18-2) will headline the event, announced by ONE FC. Both fighters are unbeaten in ONE FC (3-0) and are the top two bantamweights in the promotion.
Also announced in the article, are two more fights for ONE FC 15, a rematch between featherweights both making their ONE FC debuts: Rob Lisita (13-5) and Yusuke Kawanago (13-3-2)–the two first fought at Legend FC 10, with Kawanago winning a decision over Lisita.
Also, Gianni Subba (3-0), all 3 wins in ONE FC, will take on Eugene Toquero (4-1), who’s lone loss came in his ONE FC debut at ONE FC 13 against Geje Eustaquio.
Bibiano Fernandes, the last DREAM bantamweight champion and one of the long-time top bantamweights in the world, first won the ONE FC interim bantamweight championship at ONE FC 9: Rise to Power, defeating Koetsu Okazaki via unanimous decision in the same arena he will be competing in, in May. He then went on to unify the title against champion Soo Chul Kim, defeating him via decision.
The former Shooto featherweight champion, Masakatsu Ueda will look capture his 2nd championship when he takes on ‘The Flash’. Ueda earned the title shot against the champion, by winning the ONE FC bantamweight grand prix. Along the way, Ueda defeated Min Jung Song in the quarter finals, former UFC lightweight champion Jens Pulver in the semifinals, and Kevin Belingon in the finals.
