Rebney: Patricio Pitbull Freire vs Pat Curran next, Daniel Straus will get the winner

Following the conclusion of Bellator 112, which crowned a new Bellator featherweight champion as Pat Curran defeated Daniel Straus with a rear naked choke in the 5th round of their trilogy fight, Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney announced at the post-fight press conference that Season 9 featherweight tournament winner, Patricio “Pitbull” Freire would be getting the next featherweight title shot.

Not only that, the former champion Daniel Straus was also announced to be taking on the winner of that fight between Curran and Freire, for the title.

The fight between Patricio Freire and Pat Curran will be a rematch of their first Bellator featherweight title fight at Bellator 85, in which Pitbull lost a narrow split decision to the champion.

Patricio “Pitbull” has also been very vocal in the past voicing his displeasure of Bellator granting Pat Curran a rematch after he lost the title to Daniel Straus at Bellator 106.
