Bellator 113, this Friday will feature the opening round of the Season 10 lightweight tournament–in addition to the light heavyweight title headliner between Atila Vegh and Emanuel Newton. Just a few days before the event, one of the lightweight competitors has suffered an injury and had to pull out. MMAJunkie.com reports that former UFC lightweight Terry Etim suffered an ACL injury and will not be able to compete at Bellator 113.
Terry Etim was scheduled to make his 2nd appearance in Bellator, after a successful debut at Bellator 109, defeating Patrick Cenoble via unanimous decision.
In Etim’s place will be replacement Tim Welch, who will now take on Derek Campos in the opening round of the tournament. While Etim’s original opponent, Derek Anderson will face Brandon Girtz.
Tim Welch (10-4) came out on the losing end of his only Bellator fight back on Bellator 74 against Michail Tsarev via 2nd round submission.
Bellator 113 will be held at the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas on Friday, March 21st.
