After Jacare Souza halted his 11 fight winning streak, Francis Carmont will have the chance to get back to winning ways in the co main event of the UFC’s return to Berlin against CB Dollaway.
Carmont’s 6-0 run in the UFC middleweight division earned him a top 10 spot in the rankings, with impressive wins over Chris Carmozzi, Lorenz Larkin and Costas Philippou. Losing to Jacare Souza is nothing to be ashamed of, as the Brazilian has established himself as a top 5 middleweight and one of the biggest contenders to Weidman’s belt.
Carmont will face a tough UFC veteran in CB Dollaway, who bounced back from a poor judging display with a first round knockout over Cezar Ferreira in ‘Mutante”s home nation. It took the ‘Doberman’ just 39 seconds to get past ‘Mutante’, and he rebounded emphatically after coming on the wrong side of a controversial judging decision against Tim Boetsch. Many felt Dollaway did enough to win the decision against Boetsch, and should be on a four fight winning streak as a result.
The UFC Fight Night 42 card is headlined by another important middleweight clash as Gegard Mousasi and Mark Munoz are booked for a five round stand-off. The card marks the first time the UFC have hosted an event in Germany since UFC 122, and will be the first time the promotion appears in the nation’s capital.
UFC Fight Night 42 will be held on 31 May, the same night as the Silva vs. Sonnen card in Brazil, and is held at O2 World in Berlin, Germany.
