Coming off a 5-round unanimous decision loss to Jorina Baars in her just 3rd Muay Thai fight at Lion Fight 14, The Invicta FC featherweight champion, Cris “Cyborg” Justino appeared on AXS TV’s Inside MMA Friday with hosts Kenny Rice and Bas Rutten to discuss her thoughts on potential opponents in Women’s MMA.
Of course the much talked about rivalry between Justino and UFC Women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey was discussed. Referencing an interview Rousey did saying that she would only move up to 145 for a fight with Gina Carano, Cyborg had some choice words for Rousey, “She said, 145 for Gina, only for Gina, not for me. And I think she run from me, I think she’s a fake fighter because when you’re a true fighter you fight everyone.”
Also the newly crowned Legacy FC Bantamweight champion, Holly Holm–who was rumored to be in discussions for a PPV fight between herself and ‘Cyborg’. However Justino denied knowing anything the rumored discussions.
“I didn’t know anything about this, I had a call from George and he says to me, I didn’t know nothing from that,” Justino said. “But for sure I’m ready for anyone, everywhere, anywhere. But for sure I can fight her any time. I don’t know boxing, but I wanna do a boxing match.”
And finally Gina Carano, who has said recently on the Arsenio Hall show that she had a desire to fight and would be meeting with Dana White the following week to discuss a potential return. Cyborg praised her former Strikeforce foe and welcomed a rematch.
“For sure, it’s cool, she shows she’s a true fighter because she wants a rematch with me,” Cyborg said. “For sure I want to fight her again.”
When asked to play matchmaker if she could pick her next opponent, Cyborg did not hesitate to answer.
“Me and Ronda, 145, it’s perfect.”
