For the 2nd time in 3 years, Georges St. Pierre underwent successful knee surgery to repair a torn ACL. The surgery happened Wednesday as GSP’s twitter and facebook both posted a picture of him after the surgery, deeming it a success and saying that he is on the road to recovery.

The former UFC welterweight champion suffered a torn left ACL two weeks ago during training. GSP had surgery on his right ACL back in 2011 and it took 10 months to recover and return back to action–in a fight against Carlos Condit at UFC 154. GSP took time off from the sport after retaining his UFC welterweight title in split decision win over Johny Hendricks at UFC 167, and vacated his title in the process. With his contract currently frozen, the UFC decided to pay for his surgery.
